Pyrivo frequently asked questions
What is Pyrivo?
Pyrivo is a compact plug-in ceramic heater. It plugs straight into a UK wall socket and warms a single room quickly, so you can heat the room you are in rather than the whole house.
Is this the official Pyrivo website?
Yes. pyrivo.co.uk is the official UK store for Pyrivo. Orders placed here are processed through our secure Shopify checkout and shipped to UK addresses.
How much does Pyrivo cost to run?
Pyrivo uses 400W on low and 800W on high. At an electricity price of 25p per kWh that works out at roughly 10p per hour on low and 20p per hour on high. The thermostat cycles the heater off once the room is warm, so real-world costs are usually lower.
How big a room will it heat?
Pyrivo is designed for rooms up to around 12 m² – a typical bedroom, home office, bathroom or small living room. For larger spaces, many customers use two units.
Is Pyrivo safe to leave on?
Pyrivo has overheat protection that switches the heater off automatically if it gets too hot, plus a timer so it turns itself off. As with any heater, keep it clear of curtains, bedding and water, and don't cover it.
Can I use it in a bathroom?
Only use it where the socket itself is safe to use under UK wiring regulations, and keep it well away from baths, showers and splashes.
Do you deliver to the whole UK?
We deliver to addresses in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Delivery options and costs are shown at checkout before you pay.
What if it isn't right for me?
You're covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee. See our returns page for how to send it back.
Are plug-in heaters safe?
Modern plug-in heaters with overheat protection are designed for home use. Plug Pyrivo directly into a wall socket (not an extension lead), keep it clear of fabrics and water, and never cover it.
Do plug-in heaters use a lot of electricity?
A plug-in heater uses exactly its rated power while heating. Pyrivo is 400W on low and 800W on high – much less than a typical 2kW fan heater – and the thermostat cycles it off once the room is warm.
How many amps does Pyrivo use?
At 800W on a 230V UK supply Pyrivo draws about 3.5 amps, well within a standard 13A socket.
Is a ceramic heater energy efficient?
All electric heaters turn close to 100% of the electricity they use into heat. The saving comes from heating only the room you're in, for only as long as you need it – which is what a small, thermostat-controlled ceramic heater like Pyrivo is designed for.
How do I pay?
Checkout is handled securely by Shopify. You can pay by card and with the wallets shown at checkout – we never see or store your card details.
